Napoleonic Guide offers extensive materials and information about the person of Napoleon and his time, about warfare, art, and film. It gives plenty of space to topics relating to warfare; one can find sections on weapons, battle maps, the line up of regiments, and uniforms. However, using it for scholarly purposes is problematic since references to the original source are often missing.

Napoleon Online is the Follow-up-platform of the German-language magazine "Depesche" published during the 1990s, and co-operates with the website Napoleon Series. It aims above all to build upon the written "Depesche" papers an electronic, German-language, bibliography with articles relating to Organisational structures and uniforms of armies, Campaigns and wars of 1792 ö 1815 and Soldier's daily life.

The Fondation Napoléon runs two sites. This site is dedicated above all to Napoleonic primary sources put here at the disposal of enthusiasts, researchers and historians via the Internet, using the key word search. In addition, visitors to the site will find information about the Code Civil, printed working documents of the conseil dâetat, letters from Napoléon I to Bigot de Préameneu and drawings from the Collection Houdetot.

A major aim of the Fondation Napoléon is to tell the history of the First and Second Empires and the Napoleonic heritage to a wider public. The site presents a broad number of texts, pictures, biographies and bibliographies. An online-search of pictures of the epoque is offered as well.

Online presentation of the Special Research Area (Sonderforschungsbereich) 437: War Experiences, War and Society in the Modern Period, at the Eberhard-Karls-University Tübingen under the direction of Prof. Dr. Dieter Langewiesche. 

This Special Research Area, set up on 1. January 1999 in Tübingen, brings together two current strands in the research discussion: the history of war in the humanities and cultural studies, and then a concept of experience that is to be established as a guiding category for cultural studies. This page also introduces the participants and the themes of their projects.

1812 Year

The Russian portal '1812 year' as a virtual museum-project started in 1998. Currently the project includes among others a Library. This collection of mainly Russian sources contains 45 complete well-illustrated texts of memoirs and diaries, letters, fiction novels, historical treatises, various verses and songs about 1812 Patriotic war, some books written by modern writers, etc. All books are annotated and available in html, text and zip-archive formats. The bibliography section of the Library is under the constant update and includes list of the books about Napoleon period of history published in Russian and foreign languages in 1800-2000.
